Lift UPS systems are used to operate Lifts / Elevators on batteries when MSEDCL supply fails. It is typically an inverter which passes the mains voltage to the output and simultaneously batteries are charged.
Lift UPS has three main parts i.e. Rectifier, Battery, Inverter. Elevator takes the three phase supply from the mains. Whenever mains fails, inverter is turned ON to generate three phase power to feed the Elevator, hence the elevator continues to operate on battery mode till back-up is available.
Compared to diesel gensets, Lift UPS has the advantage is that it does not generate any noise. It provides pure sine wave output. It is environment friendly, it does not produce any smoke or gas.
