Online UPS is a product, which supplies uninterrupted power to the devices for predetermined time without stopping even when there is loss of power.
In online UPS, Batteries are connected to Inverter. Supply is always provided through battery. When power supply is ON, battery charge through rectifier & these charged DC energy converted into AC through inverter. The generated AC Energy given to the Load.
In Online UPS, Additional Bypass Switch is provided. It transfers the AC power to the load, if inverter system fails. It provides protection to the system. So Online UPS gives clean AC waveform by converting it into DC then reconverting this DC to fresh AC.
Online UPS have the advantage of immediate protection against the input power interruptions. It has very short on-battery run time; however this time is enough to safely shut down the connected apparatus (computers, telecommunication equipment etc.) or to switch on a standby power source. UPS can be used as a protective device for some hardware which can cause serious damage or loss with a sudden power disruption.
